I had a working plex jail on a different ssd with this networking setup, until I pulled out this ssd (only jails) in favour of a larger one and installed plex media server fresh. Plex sorts its media files by content type. Under Manage on the left-hand side of the screen, click Libraries and Add Library. Both the jail and the PC I am trying to configure plex with are on the same subnet. Open Plex Media Server and click the wrench icon on the top right to get to Settings. I am new to this, so I might be doing something wrong on this front. On the networking side, I recently switched to a Ubiquiti setup with a USG responsible for the routing. I found that the server should be picked up, even if no media is available, so this seems anyways a problem for later. I think I have set up the mounts for media correctly, I can see them if I log into the jail (though as root, not as plex user). I am running TrueNAS 13.0 and have installed plexmediaserver-plexpass from ports in an iocage jail (13.1-RELEASE). There is no server entry in the settings. I am not prompted to name my server, though. exe file in the Startup folder for Windows 11. Now, I have placed a link to the main Plex Media Server. If you're able to access the Plex server using a client on the same network but are unable to connect outside, the most likely cause of the problem is the router. When browsing to jail-ip:32400 I can access the gui hosted by the plex media server. First, yes, Plex is set in its own settings to 'Start Plex Media Server at Login.' Next, I checked Windows Settings > Apps > Startup and made sure Plex Media Server is checked on. And if it is a networking issue, maybe there is some knowledgeable people around here, as well. If you’re running Plex Media Server on a unix-like platform like Linux or FreeBSD, you’ll start, stop, and restart your Plex Media Server from the command line. Relaunch the application as you normally would using a shortcut in your Start Menu, Dock, or the like to fire it up. I am not sure this is an issue with the jail at all, but I thought you guys would at least help me exclude that possibility. Select Exit to safely shut down the server.
